If you're wondering where to put your Notion bridge, here are some tips to give your bridge the best possible range for reaching all of your sensors:
- Choose a central location in the middle of your home. If you are using sensors in the basement and on the 1st and 2nd floors, then plug the bridge into a power outlet on the first floor on an interior wall for best performance.
- It's okay to plug your Notion bridge into an outlet behind furniture as long as that furniture is not made of metal or glass. The radio signals from your Notion bridge will have a difficult time penetrating solid metal and glass but a couch or wooden desk should be no problem.
- Also avoid placing the Notion bridge too close to other pieces of electrical equipment such as PC's, refrigerators, air conditioners, washers, dryers or anything that contains an electrical motor. These appliances can interfere with the radio signals from the Notion bridge.
- Be sure to plug the Notion bridge into a power outlet that receives power 100% of the time. Avoid plugging the bridge into any power outlet controlled by a light switch.
