Notion sensors can be used to detect when a window is opened and closed. For best results, we recommend following these steps:
- Add your Notion sensor to your system within the app.
- Close your window.
- Pick a location on the inside of your window, so that it won't be tampered with.
- For sliding windows, the sensor can be placed anywhere on the glass of the moving part of the window. For hinged windows, it's best to place the sensor on the opposite side of the hinge while remaining inside. This will cause the sensor to experience a larger range of motion as your window opens and closes.
- Peel the adhesive backing off the sensor and press the sensor into place.
Note: If your window consists of multiple panes of glass, the Notion sensor may only be able to detect cracks in the single pane that it is attached to. However, it should still detect complete breakage of any pane in that window.
