Adding a New System to Your Account

Once you've completed setting up your Notion account you can add a new system of bridges and sensors to it. When you see the above page, go ahead and plug your Notion bridge into the optimal location for your home and tap on the "Add system" button.

Type in the name that you'd like to give to this system. You can type anything you'd like to denote whether this is your primary home or vacation home or just home. The sky's the limit! When you're done, tap the "Next" button.

To connect to your Notion bridge, we need your permission to use the Bluetooth radio in your phone. Tap on the Bluetooth switch to turn it on.

If you'd like Notion to provide a more personalized experience by tracking your location and enabling or disabling alerts for you, then tap on the Location switch to turn it on.

When enabling location, your mobile device may display a confirmation page similar to the one above. Tap on "Allow" to confirm that you'd like the Notion app to be aware of your location.

When you're finished, tap on the "Search for Bridge" button to allow the Notion app to discover the bridge that you just powered up.

After your bridge is found, the above page is displayed within the Notion app. If you plugged in more than one bridge before beginning the discover process, then it's possible that the app found multiple bridges. Tapping on the ">" symbol in the box will display a list of all bridges that were discovered.

For now, tap on the "Connect to Bridge" button at the bottom of the page.

If your bridge was not found, then unplug it and plug it back in again and retry tapping the "Search for Bridge" button. If it still isn't found try these tips.

If you are running the Notion app on an iOS device, you may see the above screen asking you to allow the Notion bridge to join your Wi-Fi network. Tap on the word "Next" in the top right corner to continue.

You may see the following pages appear...

When this last page appears, it should say "This accessory joined..." and display the name of your Wi-Fi network. Ignore the "Notion HQ" in the above example.

After connecting your bridge, verify that everything looks the way that you want it. Feel free to tap on the little pencil & paper icons to edit anything that isn't quite right.

If everything looks the way that you want it, tap on the "Add System" button at the bottom of the page.

Now we've finished creating a Notion account and set-up the Notion bridge as the heart of our system. The next section describes how to add sensors.
