How Do I Add A Mold Risk Task to My Sensor?
To enable Mold Risk as a task go to System > Sensors, select the sensor you want to add Mold Risk to, then tap “Add Task” and choose “Mold Risk”.
How Does The Mold Risk Task Work?
Our mold risk algorithm is based on a combination of many temperature and average relative humidity over time. Mold risk increases as favorable conditions for mold growth persist over time. And mold risk decreases as unfavorable conditions for mold growth persist over time. It takes between 10-14 days to calculate an initial reading of the mold growth risk in the area surrounding your sensor.
It’s important to note that the mold growth risk algorithm detects when thesensors’ environment is at risk for mold growth, but it does NOT detect actual mold spores in the air. This means that if your mold risk indicator moves to medium or high, it’s time to keep an eye out in that space and take action to prevent any mold growth. If you see mold growing, you should remove it immediately. Please note that because we are detecting temperature and average relative humidity over an extended period of time, any actions taken to prevent or remove mold growth may not be reflected in the Notion app for 1-2 weeks.

Ways To Prevent Mold Growth

Dry water damaged areas within 24-48 hours.
-
Control the moisture in your home- mold cannot grow without moisture
-
Keep indoor humidity below 50%. Dehumidifiers and air conditioners can help bring the humidity down in your home.
-
Increase the ventilation (running a fan, opening a window, etc.)
-
Direct water away from your home
-
Clean roof gutters
Ways To Remove Mold
-
Scrub mold off hard surfaces with detergent or bleach and water and dry completely
-
If you use bleach, do NOT mix it with ammonia or other cleaning products. Mix it with water only.
-
Be sure to wear rubber gloves, rubber boots and goggles to protect your skin during cleanup
-
Be sure to have good ventilation when using indoors by opening windows or doors
-
-
Absorbent or porous material such as ceiling tiles, dry wall and carpet may have to be thrown away if they become moldy
